Murder, she wrote.
“Courage,” she purred.
Daring, she dared
to play the rat.
“That cat’s got a tongue
quick as a match!
kindled the roof!
lit it on fire!
burned the house down
and ran rumors wild!”
down on the low,
no one knew why–
Why did she snitch?
Switch from the lie?
Turn on the dogs?
Cut all her ties?
Tell truth pigs?!
Courage, she purred.
“Murder!” she cried,
courtroom aghast, “that’s how they died!”
